Dungeness Lighthouse

The Old Lighthouse, Dungeness, Kent. The Old Lighthouse is an Historic Grade 11 building, listed in 1992 by Shepway District Council, recently celebrating its centenary. Opened with great ceremony by His Royal Majesty the Prince of Wales in 1904 after a 3 year build, it survived two world wars before decommission in 1960. Dungeness Bird Observatory

There was an easterly trickle of birds offshore during the day with a party of four Scaup. Of note while there were three Caspian Gulls. A pair of Egyptian Geese. Flew around the area in the morning and was an unusual sighting for the Observatory recording area record. Passerines remain very scarce but did include 19 Jackdaws. Were feeding offshore and two Brown Hares. Were seen on the land.
